tuesday truths....the random edition
i went all morning thinking today was Wednesday
it’s not.
it’s Tuesday.
sigh.
toaster strudels
for supper
is my
new favorite thing.
my pen bled a little on this card
which made me sad
but the ballerina bunnies?
oh….
they made me incredibly happy!
heeheehee.
this sunshine just makes me think
of beaches and bare legs,
ice cream sundaes and parades,
birds chirping outside my window,
dirt roads, air shows,
getting lost on hiking trails,
bonfires and music outdoors…
sleeping with the window open,
driving with nowhere to go
and no one expecting me…
sigh.
spring-sunday...
i made a list
of all the things
that i needed to get done today…
not wanted…
needed.
things like
laundry
and kitty litter,
dishes
and the sweeping up never ending
furballs…
and had thought that if
i crossed everything off
my need-to-do
list, i would reward myself
with a drive with the camera
and maybe (most definitely)
a stop at the dairy bar.
well…i crossed everything off the stupid list
and i did get out for a drive
and the sun even made a few short appearances
while i was out so that was a nice surprise.
i ended up at this wharf/lighthouse
(as i often do)….
spring always brings me through st nicholas
where i grew up,
where all my best memories are still vivid
and driving through there
always stirs up
strong emotion…
happy and bittersweet/sad
and then to our beach…
(yes, yes, I know…it’s a public beach…)
where the sun started to set
and i remembered I hadn’t gotten my ice cream yet!
but as i got close to the dairy bar,
i realized there were 682 cars and 3 trucks and possibly a snowmobile
ahead of me so
i settled for the next best thing…
a happy meal with a new robot toy!
all in all
a very good spring-sunday!
:)
(well, it would have been better with a sundae.)
sigh.
friday adventure on a saturday...
i haven’t been able to get out on as many
friday adventures
as sometimes i do have to work
and sometimes,
19 needs the car
because
he has to work…
but adventures can happen on a saturday, too…
(and maybe even on a random sunday…as crazy as that sounds!)
heehee
last saturday was sunny
but so much colder than i was expecting…
but i did get out for a bit with the camera
(and very cold hands…)
there is something about
early morning light
and blocks of earthy color against a blue sky…
rolling clouds, broken barns, loud music,
and knowing you have
absolutely
nowhere to be
that just makes me
incredibly happy.
oh…and i know that everyone here
is excited for burger love
(and so they should be…such a great event!)
but…also…
THE DAIRY BARS ARE OPENING!!!!!!
heeheehee.
i apologize in advance for the
barrage of ice cream photos to come…
i can’t help it.
you still like me though, right?
it's been a long time...
it’s been a long time since I have been here…
and honestly…I’m not even really sure why.
I feel like I kind of fell off the radar a little bit…
I don’t even really know what has been filling my time.
Sleep maybe.
Sleep has been filling my time.
I come home and it’s cold & dark,
and all I can think about is getting in my
warm bed…and hibernating til spring.
But the days are starting to feel a little longer now…
this weekend I actually got out of the house….
stayed up past 8:30 pm to play card games with family
and it was soooo much fun…
Saturday morning I got up early to take my daughter to
Charlottetown so packed my camera and
made a day of it…
Also met up with a new friend
(we have been online friends for a bit
but met up in real life Saturday)
and, seriously, it was so awesome. :)
You know how sometimes you meet someone
and you just feel like you have known them
FOREVER
(even though, just moments before, you worried that you
might not recognize them in Starbucks)
and you spend the whole hour and half laughing hard
and randomly exclaiming “OMG, I knowwww! Me, too!!!”
Well…that’s how this went.
The main reason that Melissa & I planned to get together
is because we both share many of the same interests
(photography, bullet journaling, watercolors, etc etc etc)
and thought that it might be fun to see if we might be
able to create a little network of other people
who have similar craft/art related interests…
We have created a Facebook group called
Creative Collective (PEI)
and, while it’s just in its baby stages right now,
we are hoping to create a space for people to
join & come together to share what their interests are.
The plan is have some meet-ups happen,
both in Summerside & Charlottetown,
to give people a chance to get out and network
with other people and maybe have their own
”I knowwwwwww!!! Meeee, toooo!!” moments.
We are pretty excited about this so watch for much more to come!
