friday-i'm-in-love...{will all that is fall}

last sunday
we spent the day
at an apple orchard...
and as i mentioned before,
the kids played
in the hay
for the bulk of our time there.

there is nothing sweeter
than knowing your mature 13 year old
and too-cool new 9 year old
can lose all inhibition
and just play
for that long
in a pile of hay...
giggling and jumping,
burrowing and burying.

i love fall.

birthday boy...

nine years ago today.
how can that be?
i still find it hard to leave you...
i am always reminded of you
standing at the baby gate
with those heartbreaking big brown eyes
babbling "hababubuh buh?"
when i would be leaving for work
and it would take every ounce of
resistance in me
not to turn around
and come back
and pick you up
and breathe you in.

you are my cuddler,
my worrier,
my thoughtful and concerned.
you make me giggle out loud,
you are my bighead,
my boy,
my baby still, even at nine.

2 girls, 2 clicks {week four}

2 girls, 2 clicks {week four}

i had plenty of pumpkin pictures after this weekend
but thought that i would go with
the idea of the harvest instead..
and the beauty in fresh
complimenting
the beauty of decay.

thanksgiving....

tomorrow
is
thanksgiving
and i am
loving
this weekend...
a short family road trip friday night
ending with a late supper at east side marios
chocolate and chips and a movie
with the kids last night
and today we are going picking apples
{and maybe trying my
inexperienced
hand at apple pie...maybe}
tomorrow
turkey at my parents
with all the fixin's and all the family...
the sun is shining,
i am down two more pounds,
i bought a shirt last night
that i love, love, love...
{with the unexpected help of two
males who were helping their mother shop...
when i came out of the dressing room
to look in the mirror
they proclaimed, " oh...you HAVE
to get that shirt...very nice...try
going up a size, that material may shrink}
{oh...
and when i went to pay,
the clerk told me that the two guys
picked out some jewelry
for the "girl trying on the brown shirt"
to look at...}
{my face was 3 shades of red.}

the house is almost finished
and we succeeded in not telling anyone
yet...
we are trying to keep it a secret until
next weekend...heh....we'll see.
well.
this started as just a happy thanksgiving
but turned out much longer...
i know most of my readers
don't seem to be canadian
{except i do see someone from my island
showing up regularly...big wave!!}
but happy thanksgiving to those
who are celebrating...
and happy weekend to everyone else!!
