i keep a gratitude list where
i try to write 3 things every day
that make me happy.

• 5 days off in a row!
• emma got accepted to a school
• hiking adventures with an old friend & a hand drawn map
• oreo cookies
• bare feet
• campbell treating to ice cream at dairy bar
• felicia day liked my tweet!
• canned corn
• overboard with emma and stirling
• milk duds
• giggly texts with M when i was stressed out and needed a release (& also couldn't find a bathroom...which i also really needed...)
• sunshine when they called for rain
• a trip to kool breeze with my mom
• recreating the "little red car" photo

• emma and her 8 chocolate bars

♥♥♥ i'm coming back to flickr...and realizing how much i missed it...it was a staple for me when i first started playing with photography....and so many fantastic awe-inspiring images on Explore.  Makes me want to grab my camera and play.

and i've been playing with the timer on my camera...both the phone & the big camera...it's been fun...and fun is good.  :)  HAPPY WEEKEND!

friday i'm in love...(the long weekend edition)

♥  with long, extra long weekends...mine started on thursday
with a trip to moncton with my girl...
which meant two things -
one:  i got to spend a full day just hanging out with emma :) :) :)
two:  i can cross "drive to moncton" off my bucket list

♥  got up early this morning & spot cleaned the house
so that i could go out hiking
guilt free
with one of my best friends...
armed with a hand drawn map, a camera, 1 banana
and a lot of enthusiasm...
we got lost a couple of times...picked up a cute beagle
for a companion for a while,
might have wandered through a christmas tree farm...
definitely trailblazed through a golf course
and one of us peed in the woods.

someone said it's not an adventure til you get lost.
personally, i feel it's not an adventure
until someone cries
in the fetal position
but those might just be my rules.

☺ with my robot shoes...I know I have had these for a while
but I never really had the chance to share them here...
because I only had phone-photos and I felt they needed
big-camera pictures...not needed...deserved :)  I would suggest
that you check out their site, but...if you are like me,
you will want EVERY shoe there.

friday i'm in love....

• oh my gawd...with this handwriting...
  all of it...oh my heart.
   
• with these obits written by a mom
  for her daughter...in jest...
  (a little dark, i know)
  but seriously...
  if you read nothing else that i share for you,
  read this.
   
• and i can't help wonder if my 16 year old
  is too old to do this with...or this...damn it.
  anyone want to lend me a kid?
   
• this story about working with Prince...
  still so sad... :(
   
• and this is not a friday i'm in love item...
  but the huge fire in Fort McMurray and
  surrounding areas cannot be forgotten...
  it is incredibly sad and scary to see the images and video
  coming out of that area,
  to hear your co-workers and friends tell stories
  of family and friends having to flee their homes
  to race the fire, to get of danger's path..
  it's terrifying.
  The support coming in from all over Canada is the only bright spot in this story...
  but I wish it didn't have to be this way...
  and i hope it doesn't worse before it gets better. :(
