friday i'm in love {on a Saturday}...the slightly store-bought edition

I had a little pity-shopping-from-my-bed-party
when I was coming on the end of being sick…
I was sad that I missed so much of Christmas
and that I felt so rotten
so I bandaged myself up
with some retail therapy.

pjs and hair masks,
slippers and a new bathing suit
(that I absolutely love)
free samples,
moisturizers and
a couple of toys & stickers

I am finally starting to feel like myself again.
Being sick sucked a lot of energy out of me
but I can feel it coming back
and it reminds me to be grateful
for good health and energy
and to not take it for granted….

OTHER RANDOM HAPPY THINGS:
this is us
plans for a small four-friend book club :)
my girl surprising me with a “fresh cut grass” candle

phone calls from my mom
couch visits with a bestie
lipton cup of soup
freshly colored hair (finally!)
a visit from my boy
my new cordless vacuum which I LOVE SO MUCH
my chiropractor being able to help me with my weird rib issue
a surprise request for a print of a doodle I did

friday i'm in love.... ♥

I had planned to have a
friday adventure
today but then a
half-headache
(which is an annoying headache
but not bad enough to render me useless
if you are wondering about my
definitions…a frigging rotten headache
really ruins my day…a migraine incapacitates me)

So instead,
I gave the big orange house
a much needed cleaning
and then spent some time
working on some new plans…
health-wise and creatively.

(The irony that I am eating 3 large
sugar coated gumdrops while writing
this is NOT lost on me…heh)

But I am thinking about making some
small changes to my lifestyle
and possibly some large ones…
like maybe joining a gym…
and maybe finally creating a calendar
with some doodles to sell…

I like fall.
It makes me feel
inspired….
even on days I have
half a headache.

friday i'm in love sorta kinda....

It’s been a strange kinda
up and down sorta day….

beautiful and sunny
but I still don’t want to go anywhere
because there are still trees and lines down
and I am not sure
I am ready to see the beaches yet…

day off but
not for a happy reason….
instead I feel heavy like lead
and quiet….

but sometimes,
you just gotta push through
to find yourself
on the other side
of your own feelings
and focus on the
things you love….

well….the hatches are battened
and there is chicken fricot on the stove,
fresh biscuits and cinnamon sugar donuts
from water street bakery,
frozen water bottles
ready to do double duty
as a cold back up if needed for food,
phones are charged,
all the animals are safe in the house,
even the roamer Finnegan the cat
though he is not happy about it.

friday i'm in love...

It’s a funny kinda friday…
a little dark, a little gloomy…
sorta stressy
with the whole no debit/credit
thing, not that it really affects me
directly at the moment
but my brain
gets all
this is how the end of the world happens
and wondering if the conspiracy
theorists know more than
given credit for
and then I fall down in that
little bit of a fear spiral
sooooooooo
I have just put on my smurf pjs
and am going to
hunker down with a
cold can of diet coke
and maybe get lost
in a movie for a bit…
