friday i'm in love...(& weirdly not an Easter version...)

I love a long weekend. ♥

I feel a distinct push/pull
in my life this week.
One minute I am hyper focused,
the next I am floundering
around panicking about ants
(so far there have only been a few
but it doesn’t take much to push me to panic mode),
attic pigeons, low oil level in tank
and hoping it will come in time,
and wondering why I can’t keep on top of
literally ANYTHING.

This will pass. I know it will.
Maybe it’s the moon as one friend suggested.
Maybe it’s just hormones.
Maybe it’s just who I am. :)

I am always surprised
to keep learning things about myself
to be honest.
I mean…it seems strange to be surprised
at this stage of the game…

But I recently listened
to a woman talking about her
struggle with depression, anxiety,
adhd and OCD tendencies.
She talked about
how her method/thought process
for laundry sorting
became key to realizing that she
had some level of OCD.

I sort my laundry
the
exact same
way.
and thought that EVERYONE did.

Not that it necessarily means anything
one way or the other,
but it just
surprised me…& made me think…
the things we consider quirks or strategies
may be seen as signs or symptoms of something else
and you just never even considered the idea
because you assumed everyone did it the same
or thought the same or reacted the same or
whatever…

Being a person is interesting. :)

THINGS I AM LOVING:

♥ sunshine & longer days (even it is bringing the ants out)
♥ i finished daisy jones and the six and IT SO DID NOT DISAPPOINT!!!!
♥ i am totally drooling over this sofa.
♥ rewatching the office with my girl. she loves dwight & angela but just love jim and pam.
♥ seeing the kids on my street out playing all day…scooters and bikes and stopping by to pet pugsley…and ask if i know i still have my christmas decorations up….and halloween, too. Heehee. :)
♥ i watched this last night…while home alone….which i will tell you now was not a good time to watch it but it was very, very good.
♥ and april is national poetry month…here you go.

friday i'm in love...

it was the first
true friday adventure
i have had
in a while…

there were doughnuts,
dirt roads, diet coke in a can,
singing loud,
snoopy socks, a good book
and a bit of exploration/random driving…

OTHER THINGS I AM LOVING:

♥ made me sad but i can also relate…

♥ realizing i am an INJF

♥ i need this

friday i'm in love...

and it’s friday again.

this week flew by.
i spent a lot of time in the office
instead of working from home
which has it’s own set of pros and cons.

mostly it was a very busy week.
but i got to go for
a beautiful evening beach walk
with a friend
and saw the sunset…
and spent an evening at the
community school banquet
and that was so fun.

if you have not tried community school,
you totally should.
it was a great way to get out of the house
one night a week in the dreaded depths of winter
which is when i really struggle to
connect with people…
i learned a little macrame, had a lot of laughs
and got to enjoy a rousing sing a long
of “wasn’t that a party” at the banquet…
(along with delicious lemon pie)
and won a cat hammock bed! :)

{sidenote:: it’s amazing that your
brain will remember every single word
and inflection of a song you haven’t heard
in decades}

FRIDAY I’M IN LOVE::

♥ oh my heart….i love all of these.

♥ i have read this over and over.

♥ this was mesmerizing…his hair.

♥ my latest IPSY haul

♥ my perpetual candy jar

♥ some time spent at the little blue desk experimenting

happy spring even though we
came into it with a bit of a storm
and a fresh a layer of snow all over…
but the days are brighter and longer
and maybe a touch warmer.

that’s enough for me. ♥

friday i'm in love...sorry, not a St Patrick's edition...cause I'm lame.

I know this should somehow
be a St Patrick’s day edition
but instead, I
HAVE
to tell you about the
frigging amazing
homemade flakies I got from
sweet’ems bake shop!!!!!!!

These were literally too die for
and I looked forward to picking up
this order all week…
my week was sleepy and stressy,
time change killed me,
work is insanely busy
and I just can’t keep up
in anything that I am doing…
house, work, exercise, consignments…
but these little sweet delights
made
up
for
everything.
♥

Look at allllllll that lemony goodness
dripping out …and that flaky flaky-ness.
Sooooo good.

OTHER THINGS I AM LOVING ON A FRIDAY

♥ Slowly, you will learn how to lay down your arms. How to walk away from those who will only ever love you in halves. Slowly, you will learn that you cannot love someone into loving you, or being ready, if they are not. You cannot love someone into their potential. You cannot close their hands around your heart if they are not willing to hold it themselves. You have to let them go. You have to focus on the people in your life who bring you back home to yourself. You have to focus on standing up for that kind of connection, on honoring that calm, because it exists. It exists.

it’s messy mix of winter here today…
and i am embracing it
completely…
warm, cozy pjs,
hot chocolate,
maybe a hot bath,
storm chips on standby,
a half finished book
ready to be read
while tucked in with a
knit blanket, a pug and 3 cats….

i’ve got nowhere to be
and nothing to do
except watch the snow fall
and accept february for being
february…

FRIDAY I’M IN LOVE:

i was more excited about that than i was for valentine’s day…
