friday i'm in love (started on Friday; posted on Saturday)

I started this post
last night…
well, yesterday….
and then again last night
but I was sleepy.

The words
along with the ambition
escaped me.

Now it’s Saturday morning
and I am armed with the
fortitude of
a perfectly messy
tomato and chicken sandwich,
all salt and pepper
and dripping onto the plate.
I am still wearing my mickey mouse pjs,
messy hair, drinking cinnamon apple tea
and feeling wordy from the book
I finished this morning
while watching the sun come up.

It was an awesome book
(this summer will be different by carley fortune)
(I know I am jumping ahead and this is not a book review
but spoiler alert, I’m giving it many, many stars & hearts)

THINGS I AM LOVING RIGHT THIS SECOND::

♥ my deck and the swing and the new door
(if you follow me in other places, I apologize for gushing…
AGAIN…heh)

(also I know a door should not be that BIG of a deal
but if you know me, you know that this was at least 6 years
of a procrastinating guilt ridden fearful and anxiety ridden task
that is now COMPLETE)

♥ i fell in love with this

♥ reading books & watching the clouds go by on the swing

♥ this movie looks funny…

♥ playing this on repeat in anticipation!!!!

♥ and is it even a friday i’m in love without a doughnut or ice cream?
this blueberry lemon from get caked was so messy
and fun and de-FRIGGING-licious…that lemon in the middle?
I was not expecting it and that was a happpppppppy surprise.

friday i'm in love...

So far, September has brought me
stock car races, demolition derbys
and time lounging on the deck…
but also a two day headache 🤦‍♀️
which I am not that happy about…
I had gotten away from headaches
for so long
and I don’t really want to go backwards.

But yay for Fridays!
Let’s get right into what I am loving right now::

♥ this made me laugh so hard…

♥ wanna buy a maritime fort? I’ll go in on it with you…
I mean…I won’t be able to go in much but you will still
have to pay the bulk of it but….wanna??

♥ my new hello kitty crocs….I honestly
never thought I would get on the croc-bandwagon…
but THESE WERE SO CUTE AND ON SALE!!!

♥ I am obsessed with the idea of
free little libraries…leave a book/take a book
kind of idea…especially if they are cute.
I stopped by a new one “out home”
which has even more meaning for me
because…memories.
I left 3 books and scored these three.
I am keeping a bag of “ready to be rehomed”
books in the back of my car
at all times now just in case I run into one of these.

I hope your friday was super fun!
and that you don’t have a headache…
but if you do,
I hope it’s not a bad one and that it
goes away super-duper fast.

friday i'm in love....and also a bit of a ramble...heh...

Do you ever feel like you are
struggling to find yourself?

Like…you know you are still in there
because you keep seeing glimmers
and shimmers of your old excitement,
your usual joy and creativity and happiness…
but it feels like it is buried down deep
and you have to keep shifting the sands
in your brain to let the light back in?

That’s kind of where I have been.
And it’s weird, it’s so up and down and
in and out and topsy turvy…
one second it all makes sense
and the next second, I have lost the thread
that holds it all together
and pieces fall on the floor.

I try to give myself space
and grace,
I know the loss of my dad is still very much
driving my actions and reactions…
and a recent health stress is kind of
freaking me out but I tell myself
that worrying will not change anything,
I just have to wait and see.

BUT….
this is a friday i’m in love post
so let’s get to the good stuff! 😎

💕 I have been loving the new jar of challenges challenge -
30 days of fairy tales (reward of new stickers!)

💕This stuff. I am currently on my 3rd bottle of this. When I start running
low, I literally panic-order it because my sleep has been SO good.

💕Speaking of good sleep, it’s possible it plays a role in the fact that this
is day TWENTY SIX of NO headaches. And I mean NONE. Not a threat,
not an echo, nothing. Nada. I will post more about this later…I kinda don’t
want to jinx it. (Hopefully I haven’t already!)

💕Look at my lilacs!!! Every time I see it, I think “I did that.
I bought that. I planted that. I did that.” And I have had fresh lilacs
in my house for weeks. So happy!

💕This post on aging. I feel this deep in my 55 year old heart.

💕And this adorable artist…but much along the same theme as above.

💕And finally, I CAN’T WAIT TO SEE THIS MOVIE!!!!!

friday i'm in love....

It’s Friday…
the sun was actually out
for a bit of the day
along with a little bit of rain.
I love how my front lawn
is full of these little
purple flowers
(probably because the lawn is
well fertilized courtesy of Pugsley)….
seeing them pop up
just makes me happy.

One thing I love right now
is that I spent day with my mom
and we did some shopping
and had burger love
with one of my brothers
at the starlite diner
(which was ok but I’m not really a burger-girl soooo
don’t take my review too seriously)

Another thing I love
are these dollar store journals.
And when I love something,
I buy it in multiples…
as evidenced here.

it's been a quiet kinda friday
here in the big orange house.

a headache-y kinda week
likely due to the ridiculous amount
of gloomy days and rain
leading to naps & a sick day
a migraine and general procrastination
which ultimately resulted
in a sickening amount of water
accumulating the basement
which then led to a tension headache
while furiously pumping out
disgusting basement water
in semi darkness
because i was afraid to change
the lightbulb while standing
in a foot of water
…..
i know i say my boots make me
invincible
but even polka dots
have their limits.

but onwards and upwards to the list! 📋

FRIDAY I'M IN LOVE::

🎈this sweet little a-frame….
♥️ i still love this song…and the dance to go with it…sigh
🎈all this rain is making me think about gardens
♥️ a visit to the naturopath and hopes for better sleep and more energy and hopefully eventually LESS headaches
🎈finally some success at blogging from my new tablet…in bed! :)
♥️ an extra long very much needed long weekend
🎈a visit from an old friend who brought me some all natural samples to try…I can't say much about them yet (but i can't control myself to not say this…THEY SMELL SO GOOD, I WANT TO EAT THEM)

and two mourning doves that found
their way onto my deck and
hung out for a bit leaving me with a big smile.
