sigh...i'm such a freak.

never know what they are going to say...
done by ten and left as background on my computer

and i know that i am
really...
or at least i should know,
by now.

i grew up being constantly told
in elementary school
that i was
weird...
nobody could/would give me
a definitive reason
as to why...
but i was
weird
regardless.

i was kind of an outcast
by choice...
i never really tried to hang out with anyone.
i had a best friend at home
that was younger than me
and really, i guess, i felt that was all i needed.

however,
it did scare me that people thought i was weird
especially when i didn't know what the behaviour was
that triggered that reaction...
i read alot...i cried alot...other than that,
i was fairly quiet.

later on,
by high school,
i began to realize
that...you know what?
its ok to be weird.
its ok to be different.
its cool to be me.
and that people liked me for it.

anyhow,
the point of this entry was not really
about that...
its more about the way i read blogs.
i don't know if anyone else does this,
but i'm so damn methodical
that i have to follow a certain routine
with the blogs every day.

i read them in the order they are
in my links..i post religiously at certain ones...
and then, if i have time,
i pick the one that i am currently "working on"
and study it...i read all the archives,
look at all the pictures,
check out all the links,
and then finally i check out all the other
blogs that are blogrolled on that site
and bookmark the ones that look
interesting to me...

is that odd?
is that compulsive?
heh..
is it weird?

a day late and a dollar short...

artist-in-residence: "six", the boy wonder.

i seem to be on a trend this week
of being a day behind...
poetry thursday became poetry friday...

grateful friday morphs into grateful saturday...

-an impromtu trip to the "home show"
for the first time as
actual home-owners...i didn't feel like a poser
going around looking at information...
i AM a HOMEOWNER, (finally), hear me roar.
heehee.

-all the sweet comments about my monkey-cell-phone-holder
and bohemian girl's kind challenge to make a golden retreiver one.

-my brother bringing home a baby bumblebee...
no, wait...it was a case of canned diet coke...pure luxury :)

-when ten got sick last night, she only threw up once
on the floor...the rest of the night, she made it to the
proper vomiting receptacle...so a negative turned into a
positive...

-a trip to micheals craft store resulting in some new yarn,
some ribbon that is so cute-sy, i had a hard time not eating it,
and some rubber stamps

-dyed my hair a slightly more fiery version of the red i normally
use (although my hair is actually black, i just use the red to
get rid of the gray..) and it turned out better than i expected.

-a two hour phone call with a long time (elementary school)
best friend...

poetry thursday posted late....

anyone lived in a pretty how town

anyone lived in a pretty how town

(with up so floating many bells down)

spring summer autumn winter

he sang his didn't he danced his did

Women and men(both little and small)

cared for anyone not at all

they sowed their isn't they reaped their same

sun moon stars rain

children guessed(but only a few

and down they forgot as up they grew

autumn winter spring summer)

that noone loved him more by more

when by now and tree by leaf

she laughed his joy she cried his grief

bird by snow and stir by still

anyone's any was all to her

someones married their everyones

laughed their cryings and did their dance

(sleep wake hope and then)they

said their nevers they slept their dream

stars rain sun moon

(and only the snow can begin to explain

how children are apt to forget to remember

with up so floating many bells down)

one day anyone died i guess

(and noone stooped to kiss his face)

busy folk buried them side by side

little by little and was by was

all by all and deep by deep

and more by more they dream their sleep

noone and anyone earth by april

wish by spirit and if by yes.

Women and men(both dong and ding)

summer autumn winter spring

reaped their sowing and went their came

sun moon stars rain

by E. E. Cummings

i have loved this poem
ever since i was a child...
it was when i realized
that poetry was
accessible...
it was
possible...
that i
could have
poetry
in me...

more poetry thursday here...

love list.

i am feeling drawn
to softness
this week...
maybe it is the huge cottony heavy snow
blanketing the trees this morning...
maybe it is the upcoming
and much anticipated
birth of many new
babies into my family...
maybe it is the promise of spring...

i don't know really what it is,
but i feel like something is calling me
to work with pinks and off-whites,
speckles and spots...
to slow down,
to savor...

this week i have been loving...
-smores flavored pop tarts (even though
they inevitably give me heart burn)
-this incredible blog...i have been spending
all of my "nap-break-time" pouring through
her archives in absolute astonishment and envy
-postcard project (pictured above) from be alive, believe, be you
the colors match the idea...inspiring and beautiful
-this make-you-think documentary...presents
some interesting questions
-forgotten favorite songs: ode to billy joe,
running to stand still
baby can i hold you
in the ghetto
-some new ones to add to the list:
red is blue
dance dance
-my kids' report cards...yay!
