quiet friday.

a little while ago,
i was lucky enough to
get picked to receive
some cool fabric
from one of my favorite
bloggers.
it came in the mail
this week...
it was perfect timing,
because i really would like to try
making a lined bag
and i think that this would make a
fantastic color for a lining,
especially on a deep blue bag..

speaking of bags...
i finished knitting this one.
the pattern is from
stitch and bitch...
it is called zeeby's bag
it is not the exact same
and i made a few mess ups on it
(for one, i sewed the wrong side on the back)
but i don't think it is that noticeable,
unless you are looking for it.
i decided to go with
a pocket on the front as well
as the inside,
because when i stitched the pocket
on the inside,
i probably should not have gone
right through the bag,
cause then you could see the stitches.

live and learn.
that's what it is.

poetry thursday on time for once!

to add that heh, today is only wednesday.
it took me an hour to realize that
TODAY IS NOT THURSDAY...
damn. i am still "not on time" but
i'm not changing it now...baha.)


i have not carried this poem
with me
on paper
but i have been carrying it
in my head
this week...
mulling over words,
pondering the choice of adjectives,
being fickle with my
use of commas.

it was written after a hot bath
while skin was still damp
and the scent of vanilla lotion
stayed elusively
in the air.

lemon lime
and powder pink
she holds a poetry reading
for one.

words inescapable...
irreplaceable
trickling down her neck
droplets of prose-
she pauses and reflects
as she poses for each phrase,
as she shuns
and selects
trying on a metaphor,
accepts or
rejects

giving in to the power of rhyme
she bows...
she genuflects
accepting her addiction to the
pursuit
of the elusive
line
seeking the rhythm, seeking the time.

saturday sunniness...

eleven was an elf in her theatre camp play...she did a great job,
big voice, clear and concise...

the boys were so good during the play...
which made it that much more enjoyable for me

and although it took me some time to get into it,
once i was in...i was in
interesting, sad, compelling, disturbing...

and tonight,
i get to go to a bbq at one of my bestest friends house...
i have known her since grade one.

and at her house will be 2 girls we lived with during
university, one of whom i have not seen in about six
years!!!

mood changing monday.

(edited to say that i know this is tuesday but the
title says monday, i tried to post it monday
but blogger and i were not seeing eye-to-eye
on the photo part...argh.)

i had a rotten weekend.

one part renovation stress,
one part family get together stress,
one part minor marital misunderstanding,
one huge part the feeling
of being misunderstood and unconnected
to friends i normally feel connected to.

then this morning i got an email from
marianne at applehead
telling me she was mailing me a package!!

and then i got the mail today
and in it
was the cutest little package
from
green bean baby
containing a tutorial that i couldn't print
off and the sweetest l'il tag and package
of pretty papers and the coolest wallpaper...




if that is not enough to make the day brighter,
i don't know what is? that was soooo sweet of her
to do...thank you ellia!
