monday musings....

the garden is in, watered and weeded...

the memory keepers daughter is finished...
i loved it, i really did...
the contradictions between caputuring life/capturing memory
against the fluidness of living and how it refuses to be
captured in perfection...because life isn't perfect.

a day to myself, in which i am encouraging myself
not to do dishes, not to sweep, not to talk or make myself busy...
today i am trying to just be me...
silent and slow,
relaxed and letting myself be aware of my aloneness...
which does not happen often.

a day in which to daydream about places i want to go,
books i want to read next, music to try, magazines
that i have set aside for months...the weather too dark and wet
to entice me outside...a day in which to daydream.

great gratefulness...

  1. the book the memory keepers daughter...i am loving it,
i am involved, i am pulled in, i am lost in it.

2. the garden is half planted...the onions are in, the tomatoes
(although i still want to get some cherry tomatoes), the string
beans are going in today...i want strawberries although i may
be too late for this year, again...

3. i am still loving my new job...no regrets there!

4. i went to the gym today and i feel fantastic...i need to remember
this feeling and force myself to go more often.

5. my car is fixed, woo-hoo!

clapping my hands....

had a baby shower last night
for my new-to-the-world
neice,
hannah lily
and my sister in law
lent me some books!

and this is the one that i cannot
wait
to start.
however, i will force myself to wait,
because i like to hoard for a bit
and build up the anticipation...
heehee

and a shot
(albeit dark)
of the guest of honor
with her grammy
happy wednesday!

monday morning....

now that i have a month under my belt
at the new job
i am making a resolution to get back to
making/doing/dreaming/creating
and last but not least,
blogging...

(did i make this resolution last week? heh.)

so here is the first of many more posts to come...
including pictures of plants waiting to go in the garden...
early girl tomatoes (already blooming???)
celery, lettuce, and herbs like chives and oregano...
i can't wait to get dirty planting,
if only the weather would co-operate!

time away....

i have never intended to take a blogging break,
but there it was.

i thought about the blog everyday,
and the people that i read...
wondered what was going on in their lives,
what was being created
and lived and pondered....
but i just have not been able to get here.

i am hoping that the job will settle down soon
and that a routine will ensue.
i want to make sure that in gaining my
working-outside-the-home self,
i don't lose my time to make, to create, to be
that side of me...

but right now, the housework has been winning.
i need a routine.
and sun,
i really need some sun.
