friday i'm in love - the movie edition

i have recently been lucky enough to have seen
some great movies...yay movie money!

so, here is friday-i'm-in-love (with these movies)

JUNO....i don't usually follow the hyped up movies but this...
oh, this....this was a great movie...ellen page is fantastically funny
and sharp and cute...
and the amazing offshoot?
the soundtrack...i NEED this soundtrack...it is not a question of want.
it is need.

BEOWULF...i don't like angelina jolie.
i was in the jennifer anniston camp.
but still...great movie...ammmmmaaaazzzzinnng effects.
so real...i would watch it again.

RENDITION...reese witherspoon, how i heart reese witherspoon...
i can't help it really...i am enamored...june carter especially,
but oh...how i guiltily love sweet home alabama and even
those barbie/lawyer movies...just like heaven...oh and i can't wait
for penelope, in which reese seems to play a different type character...
um..yeah...
whoops for the reese-love, rendition is scary/good/makes you think.
MICHEAL CLAYTON...i don't really care for george clooney,
he definately doesn't make me all swoony...but this was a good movie...
he was not so much the smug character he often is...and it was a great
story with some interesting twists...and the woman, tilda swinton, is
amazing...i totally had her confused for cate blanchett...(even in Narnia)
but she is great to watch, even if you don't like her character...
she has a very "interesting" look....

next in line on the movie wish list?
nanny diaries (heard that it was good)
across the universe (the music....)
come early morning (i heart ashley judd)
martian child (a boy in a cardboard box...i'm smitten)
december boys (trailer almost made me cry)

i welcome recommendations!

{edited to add...i just realized that this is my 500th post....yay}

5 really good things on a (belated) wednesday...

-a new tv cabinet
made by S.
that this picture does not do justice to

-time spent knitting
while watching
my most favorite disney move of all time...

-12 and 8 surprising me by
choosing
to watch my most favorite disney movie of all time
with me...
and really enjoying it.

-all 3 computers are healthy and happy

-sunshine...it's so cold, but sunshine makes a huge difference.

(thanks to liz elayne for this great idea...)

SPC-less tuesday

due to technical difficulties in the geek household,
there will be no picture today....
all of my pictures have been saved to a separate hard drive
that i can't access from the laptop
and i have nothing worthwhile on my camera to load
(which tells me i have to get the camera out again!)

i have been having a hard time with the celebration theme
anyway
especially this month,
which has left us thinking there is not a lot to celebrate...
except good health...which, really, is cause in itself.

but everything else is dragging us down.
broken furnaces, freezing cold temperatures,
lack of money, but not a lack of bills for sure.

anyhow!
:)

things will lighten up,
it is just the heaviness of winter
bearing down on us...

tomorrow it will go up to -6....
hurrah!

snippet of a saturday...without pictures...

-creative everyday
journaled (almost) every morning
doodled (trees, girls with big heads, balloon words)
made impromptu bookmarks for my current "book of lists"
decorated the rubber bands that holds my current book of lists together
knit (very little)
tried a new recipe involving bean sprouts (which we have never bought before)

-reading
finished lullabies for little criminals and hol-eeeeee, did i like that book.
gritty and sad, funny and real, poetic and honest...
it stayed with me for hours after.

-listening
don't laugh...but i have been listening to this and this and this on youtube at work

-watching
nothing...i even missed greys anatomy this week...
but going to see juno very soon and thinking i would like the see
the first season of this

sorry for no pictures but sadly, i have none uploaded to the laptop...yet...
