5 really good things on a wednesday...

-fresh string beans in my fridge and the promise
of a corn boil at my mom's this weekend to look
forward to.

-back to school items all bought and labeled,
ready and waiting...excited kids...can't wait
to get back to normal routine...{and nine
o'clock bedtimes, heehee}

-the offer from a friend who is starting a
new business involving becoming a personal
trainer to take me on as a "guinea-pig-client"
and whip me into shape...this could be fun...
could be...i hope this is fun...

-a job offer that was declined
but made me happy to know that they
thought of me

-buying this book in anticipation of reading
to 8 every night {and 13, if she feels like
letting her mom read to her, even just for
a little bit each night}

so long summer...

you were sweet while you were here...
but i'm ready for fall now.
ready for leaves to change color...
waiting for the ground to crunch
beneath my feet...
i have projects and planning and photos in mind...
i am armed with lists,
jotting down ideas,
setting strategies in place.

as much as i love summer
{and i do}
september
{which is also my birth month}
is my january...
a month of new resolutions
and timelines
and goals.

i am ready for september.
and this one is shaping up the be the best one
in a long time.

friday-i'm-in-love...

*
salty crackers
sticking to my tongue
making me thirst
but i force myself to wait.
*
sudden onslaught of words.
unexpected.
welcomed.
*
driving long distances
by myself
with absence of fear...
confidence makes me brave.
*
an email and an invitation
and maybe a smattering of collaboration
{more to follow}
*
the end of the week,
the beginning of the weekend...

5 truths...

i bought a short skirt.
much shorter than what i would normally
wear...
and i like it.

i don't want to go back to work today.

i am discouraged about not losing any weight
this past week...
but not discouraged enough to give up.

i am getting a small headache.

i ate all the strawberries
before
anyone else
could have one.
