fast cars...





the last couple of days have been a blur
of editing photos of fast cars
and motorcycles and snowmobiles...
and then resizing them all to fit on my website
{which in hindsight, i should have done
as i was taking them}

worried about photographing the wedding
this weekend, wishing i had an external flash...
wishing i had a wide angle lens...
wishing, wishing and wishing
along with the worrying.

sent out a proposal today to a company
that advertises local festivals and events...
have never proposed for anything before...
scared and nervous and wondering if i charged
too much or did i charge too little...

and yet...
loving it all.

sometimes i am just smitten with what other people
can do, create, imagine, design, pull forth....
here are a few of the things that
have been blowing my mind recently:

~i stumbled across this blog and found this amazing
giveaway in which everyone wins (!!) and it has
been extended until june 10...how great is that!
i totally love the dandelions and want the swirly tree
and would put polka dots on my new computer
and bubbles in my bathroom....sigh...gorgeous!!


~i have always been a faithful reader
of this talented uber-cool sweetie
and she recently brought this to my attention...
how exciting is this!!

~and wow...this just blew my mind...and unfortunately,
i didn't write down whose blog i saw this on yesterday...
but i will add it if my memory gets jogged...
but this artist blows.my.mind. this is awesome
and imaginative and whimsical and wow.
it makes me gush. seriously. amazing.

~and so cute...how could anyone not adore this?
so tiny, so sweet, that little dress...sigh.

sunny cold tuesday...


mmmmm...so good.

1/2 cup coffee flavored yogurt
1/2 cup skim milk
a scoop of coffee flavored ice cream
a squirt of chocolate sauce
a squirt of cappuccino flavoring
and a handful (or maybe two) of frozen berries...
toss all in blender and blend til smooth

a perfect mid-afternoon snack
while a vanilla scented candle burns
in front of the open window
mixing the scent of spring with sweetness
in the quiet interlude
just before the kids get home.

sigh.

oh...and kick your shoes off...
so much better barefeet.

where i like to hide out from the world...





this used bookstore is a 45 minute drive
away from me
but it is one of my most favorite refuges...
i don't always buy something
but i always leave feeling
calmer and quieter and happier...

shelves from floor to ceiling,
wood floors,
cbc playing in background...
vintage relics of advertising decorating the walls...

the childrens section
has the most beautiful muted natural light...
and warmth...

i love the bookman.
