happy birthday to my constant companion... #nablopomo
my note 4!
one year ago today, you came into my life
to great fanfare and expectation...
remember?
you were late
and i started to think you were never going to come?
and then there was the whole mix up
where i rushed to the post office
thinking i was going to miss your arrival
but i made it just in the nick of time
only to find out
it wasn't you that came...
it was a package from indigo
(sorry indigo, usually i also REALLY LOVE packages from you).
i have to say
there is not one day that i regret my choice of phones...
so many things that i love about it:
- the biggest reason that i love it & why i wouldn't upgrade to a Note 5?
the EXTERNAL STORAGE....i love love love love love this feature...and honestly Samsung,
i'm not sure what you were thinking when you took that away. :( - the 16 mp camera which lets me fulfill my photo-urges when my big camera is out of reach. it's what i used when i shot this guy
- the size of the phone...which is a drawback to some people
but not to me! I love it...i don't actually talk on my phone (ironically enough)
but i do text, email, watch movies, videos and tv. i tweet, pin, instagram, blog, tag and post.
it's the perfect size for me. - that i can change the font. i LOVE that i can change the font. LOVE.
And just on the same topic...some of the apps that i love:
- samsung health
- fitbit
- myfitnesspal
- wunderlist (i love love love love this one)
- pc plus
- dropbox
- next issue
nablopomo 2015
hello, november!
back when i first started blogging,
i used to participate in
nablopomo
which is short for
national blog posting month
which is the cousin of
nanowrimo
which is short for
national novel writing month
(see the pattern here?)
:)
but since
stirling's accident and
working fulltime
plus a supposed-to-be-part-time
but feels like full time photography job
and two kids,
a pug and 2 kittens
my time here has been chipped away.
but for some reason,
today
i just feel like...
maybe i can do this again.
maybe this will be the year that I can get back here...
maybe it's the right time.
we are talking about starting a writing group...
i'm trying to find more balance...
maybe this is a good time to try again.
so here is to
looking forward to a month of
pugs and kittens
and books i want to read
and movies i will see (when editing is done)
blogs i adore and winter bucket lists...
photos and words
and weddings and whispers...
doodles and scribbles,
lies and secrets.
i'm kinda excited.
Boo! Halloween Grinches & Pugosaurs! & itty bitty kittens...
it's Halloween here in the big orange house
where i am the world's worst procrastinator
and feel like the Halloween Grinch...
ran out at 4:35 to buy candy
then publicly complained about buying said candy
cause we don't usually get many kids...
but also stuffed poor pugsley into his dinosaur costume
and took him out into the front yard
armed with treats and the camera
for a mini pug-photo session...
isn't he the cutest happiest looking pug EVER?!?
and here we have the rarely seen pugosaurus...famous for bulgy eyes and adorable but extremely dangerous snaggletooth
i also tried to stuff the kittens into a knitted pumpkin hat
but they were having none of it.
and now it's almost 7:30 and just about done for another year...
where i'll vow that next year i will do better,
i will be better prepared and the house will be terrifying
and we will make candy apples and robotic spiders
that leap at you and cobwebs hanging from the trees..
but chances are
i'll be playing the procrastinator again
and trying to jam two cats into a pumpkin
and pugsley into a wonder woman costume.
:)
what do you want to do...
i had a meeting today with some very nice people about possible
studio space...
and i feel like i blew it.
like i hmmm'd and hawww'd...
i stuttered and flustered...
i think at best i came across as
ill equipped, uncertain and
somewhat flaky.
i keep thinking about the conversation,
running it around in my head in a loop...
what did i say-why did i say that-why didn't i say this
but there was a pivotal moment for me
when i was asked
what do you want to do?
everything.
that's what i said.
everything.
and the more i think about it,
the more i think
i could not have said anything more
true.
but maybe i should have elaborated...
what could i have said...
i want to
take photos of toys and leaves and rocks and pugs and eggs and broken melting popsicles...
build a robot out of yarn and sticks and saran wrap and glitter
write a story for kids
write a story for grown ups
doodle
build a fairy house
create a miniature city
have grown up coloring parties
create paper dolls with intricate outfits and fancy names
make sock puppets
make a cartoon
build a life size flying saucer
make a paper mache T-rex named fred
sticker and glue and cut and paste and melt and sew and tack and tear and play.
play.
i want to play.
this seemed to be the most fitting photo to go with this post if i am trying to convince you that i might be a little on the flaky-over-excited-about-a dirt-road-wants-to-build-a-T-rex-odd side.
Please picture me saying "DO YOU SEE THIS DIRT ROAD BEHIND ME???" cause...that's what was happening. :)
and then part of me thinks...you know what...
maybe you shouldn't say all that.
maybe everything...
by itself...
was enough.
:)
