you just feel like
chocolate-y chai tea
and
big warm sweater....
a book and
and fuzzy soft blanket...
i think i am still in hibernate mode.
because I do things like this.
I was talking to a friend at work
about movies
and he had just seen the new Avengers movie
and I mentioned that
I would like to watch all the superhero movies
and he told me
that there are lists online
that will give you the order to watch them in
by timeline
rather than by movie release date
and I got all excited and thought
NEW PROJECT!
and then thought
ohhhhhh I CAN TRACK IT!
and came home and googled a list
(although I now realize there is more than one list out there
so I feel a little ill thinking what if this is wrong but
anyway...)
and yeah...
this is why i was the weird kid in school.
well...this kind of thing
and the fact that I cried every day
until about grade 8
oh...
and there was the time I built a
spaceship out of a cardboard box
in my bedroom
when I was like....12....
but anyway...
oh...and if you haven't watched this show,
you totally should.
it's so good!
(i love yang. she will always be yang to me).
So.
I thought I would try something new.
I usually do robots and little girls...
I thought I would try flowers...
big flowers...
on a larger canvas than what I normally work on.
I was inspired totally by alisa burke...
and by this specific tutorial
I am actually pretty happy with how it turned out
and, more importantly,
it was SO fun to do.
Kind of like zentangling but on a larger scale...
with sharpies...
and watercolors.
I think I might try this again.
It might actually be just a little addictive!
:)
(that has nothing to do with the photo above...
i just always have to start my blog posts with a photo so...)
it has been a long time
since i have found a blog
that has me so enamored...
i spent at least 4 hours last night
reading this woman's blog.
but, i mean, really...how could i not?
she writes about books
and mainly about kid's books (which i love)
and movies
and food blogs
and crafts...
and has links upon links to other cool blogs...
i felt like a total stalker
reading her blog
for hours
and checking out her instagram & facebook
and sending her messages...
(hmmmm...it sounds even worse when i type it all out).
anyway...check out this blog...
it's adorable....
even the name...Julia's Bookbag...sigh.
oh...and when i wasn't stalking,
i mean, reading her blog
i was working on a new christmas card...
i'm kind of happy with how it turned out!
:)
so i know i have talked about
muddy creek market
on here before and on facebook
but i finally remembered to take
my camera on a recent visit
out there.
but first...
meet apples
the most adorable big bunny
i have ever met.
he lives at the muddy creek market.
jenna has stocked up on tons
of beautiful items since the last time
i visited...so many talented artists
and crafts people...
it always amazes me what people create.
and i always feel this tiny shocked surprised
feeling when i see some of my own
doodles nestled in among the rest...
it's like i forget sometimes that
something is mine.
it happens every now and then
when someone posts a wedding or family photo
and i think...awwww...that's so sweet
or that's cool
and then i'm like...oh...heh.
i took that.
and it kind of surprises me
in a good way...
well...unless i'm losing my mind...
that might not be such a good surprise.
after muddy creek market
(and i am not going to lie...
i am fighting myself not to spell it crick..
i think i have always spelled it that way in my head)
i took a drive to ch'town (to buy tombow markers,
but that is too long and far too sad/pathetic a story
that only emphasizes how cheap i am, to share here)
and ate at the chip shack!!!
and got a hug from the queen of fries
(and from her mom, too!)
fries are soooooo damn good.
such a great day...
(well..except that i got home
and INSTANTLY regretted being
too cheap to buy the tombow markers, heh)
