ok..i know i'm late for corners of my home but....

i just had to share this...
my husband built them
on plans we drew up together...
there are bookshelves on the side of mine
(the one with the older computer, heh heh)

they are not finished yet
we are going to add shelving above
but i'm pretty happy so far...

and then the next venture?
possibly curtains
haha
or a finished stairway...
the possiblities are only limited by
imagination...
oh...and money, of course.

what is up with....

this new wednesday-crippling-headache phenomenon
that i seem to be experiencing...
i had one last wednesday that put me down for the day
and another one yesterday that started at 5 am
and lasted til 9 pm...
and not a "workable" type of headache either...
a "give me some effing demerol" kind of thing...

and now today,
the echoes of it remain
making me afraid to pick up a book
or knitting
or a pen and paper
or anything requiring thought...
(except that i had to check the blogs...
i missed yesterday, i couldn't go two days
in a row...what were you thinking???)

waaaaahhhh...
go away bad headache.
bad headache.
bad.
:(

looking back...

1. My favorite childhood toy was a fisher price "chalet" that had a doorbell
and patio doors. I would spend hours redecorating it.

2. My favorite game was monopoly.

3. The best movie I ever saw as a child was "the champ"...I still cry
if i watch it.

4. I don't do it much but I enjoy yoga.

5. If I could lighten up a little, I'd let myself actually try using the
new sewing machine.

6. If it weren't too late, I'd be a writer.

7. My favorite musical instrument would be the electric guitar
(but I have no idea how to play any instrument).

8. The amount of money I spend on treating myself to
entertainment each month would be about fourty dollars
(and that would be mainly on magazines, heehee).

9. If I weren't so stingy with my artist, I'd buy her some
rubber stamps.

10. Taking time out for myself is something I am learning
to give myself permission to do.

11. I am afraid that if I start dreaming, I will be disappointed.

12. I secretly enjoy reading inspirational quotes.

13. If I had the perfect childhood, I'd have grown up to be me.

14. If it didn't sound so crazy, I'd write or make a children's
book.

15. My parents think artists are ok and interesting but not
realistically in the realm of everyday people and life.

16. My God thinks artists are....? i have no answer. I don't
know how to answer.

17. What makes me feel weird about this recovery is the
language, the flakey spiritual language. I am so much more
"concrete" than that. Alot of the time, I feel like its slipping
out of my mind, that its too abstract for me. I hope I don't
offend anyone with that. I don't find other people's thoughts
"flakey", I just feel weird and not myself, if I do it...I'm
just usually fairly cynical-sounding-on-the-outside. :)

18. Learning to trust myself is probably more of a challenge
than I outwardly (or inwardly for that matter) feel comfortable
admitting.

19. My most "cheer me up" type of music is something hard
and edgy and rough...like linkin park and staind and fuel and
puddle of mudd.

20. My favorite way to dress is edgy, black, layers, vintage, odd
doc martens, a little out there but not enough to embarass my
kids, heehee.

weekly review...

this week i have:

been reading The Map Of Glass which is by jane urquhart...
i adore this book...i have loved everything that she has written.
her writing style is just so
poetic and lyrical
without getting bogged down in detail....

have watched The Constant Gardener, which i liked and yet,
sort of disliked at the same time...i like ralph fiennes, rachel
weisz
is oddly pretty and not pretty...the scene which has
her drying her ass (for lack of a more graceful word) disturbed
me, the scenery is breathtaking, the movie got kind of draggy
in places but then in a couple of places it was very AHA-like.

have managed to knit a dishcloth as taught in my community
school knitting class...just straight knit stitch but got to learn
how to increase and decrease and cast off correctly (which
i also learned i have been doing incorrectly all along)

artist way related i have done all my morning pages but one day,
found out that a fellow blogger/AW-er is also a resident of my
little province (synchronicity?), had a couple of "wow" moments
like an idea for a story, did all the tasks for last week and
finished the reading for this week

added some rubber stamps, watercolors, good pencil crayons,
2 sketchbooks, and some metal wire to my growing collection

helped design a built in shelving unit big enough to house
2 computer areas and (yay) a window seat! in order
to get ready for the birth and arrival of our new dell computer

so,
all in all,
i'm feeling pretty good about this week
and hoping that next week is just as productive...
i have scanned the tasks and am really looking
forward to doing them, very exciting because
i love anything that has to do with my reminiscing
about my childhood...heehee...

i love sundays
:)

i was sick with a headache for the whole
