where i like to hide out from the world...

this used bookstore is a 45 minute drive
away from me
but it is one of my most favorite refuges...
i don't always buy something
but i always leave feeling
calmer and quieter and happier...

shelves from floor to ceiling,
wood floors,
cbc playing in background...
vintage relics of advertising decorating the walls...

the childrens section
has the most beautiful muted natural light...
and warmth...

i love the bookman.

friday i'm in love...

~with working with these photos of my neices and nephews
at a recent b'day party...so much fun!!

~with my new much faster prettier monster of a computer...
and with the fact that i set it up ALL BY MYSELF...
which i have never done before...
i was a pretty proud geek.

~with crisp cucumber sandwiches and cold pepsi
on a dark rainy day
with the new jim cuddy cd playing in the background

~with taking chances and being open to opportunities...
photographing race cars this morning with my brother...
so much fun and so out of my usual subjects...

~with this girls awesome blog...
which i know is not new, but new to me...
and already, i heart her...
so down to earth and talented!

etsy update!!

it sold!!

i am beyond excited...
i am flabbergasted.

i made something.
and sold it.
someone else saw it
and
liked it
enough to buy it.

i know this seems like a logical sequence of events
but i think up until this point
i have been scared to do this
because
i
have not
trusted
in myself.

i knew other people could do it
but was afraid
that
no one would be interested in
something i had to offer....

and now...
i am just so excited and happy...
:O)

etsy

well...

i have finally done it.

i have opened an etsy shop...

it took me a long time
and lots of procrastinating
and a little fear
mixed in with excitement
and a dash of confusion
but i have done it!!

and added one item!!

stop by and let me know what you think...
i'll keep some cold coke on hand
and i'll even let you use the "good" glasses...
:O)

yay me!
:O)

monday almost midnight...

i have all kinds of things i want to show you
but have been holding back
because i am a linear thinker.

i feel like i have to edit my photos by order
in which they are taken.
and the things that i want to show
were taken in may.
but the over-1000 photos that i took in april
have not been edited and gone through yet...
therefore, my compulsive nature
will not let me even look at the may photos.

{this sounds so much stranger when i try to type it out}

so instead i will tell you this:

i just devoured this book in one afternoon
and it was fantastic...i laughed so hard at the santa claus/
st nicholas part that i woke 9 up and he came to
see what was wrong with me...

i am hoping to get my new computer tomorrow!! {fingers crossed!}

i watched this and loved it...great, great story...
