whatcha readin' 2019 {book 6::goal 25}
When I went back and looked at my quick “book-notes”
that I sometimes make when reading a book
because a) I am totally a geek and b) I immediately forget a book
after I have finished reading it so I always like to have something
to refresh my memory, I found this:
”The whole part about being in your 40’s and realizing
that this situation requires a grown up to handle it,
and realizing that YOU are the grown up” really hit home
for me. This happens to me all the time and I love knowing that I am not alone
in feeling inadequate and panicky and soooo not prepared.
Also
”Will my mind ever catch up to my face?”
which I just talked about with a best friend last night….
how it seems improbable that you will ever feel your age.
I definitely do not feel my age.
I’m not saying I don’t look it, but…I definitely don’t feel it.
somehow I thought at pretty much 50…I mean really…
I may as well say I am 50 now…
I would have thought that I would’ve felt
wiser…more secure…less anxious…confident.
Anyway. This is not to self diagnose my neuroses.
That’s a whole other blog post.
:)
I enjoyed this book. It was ok. The part about the threesome was…
surprising. Otherwise, it was amusing and relatable (except
the part about the threesome…just…clarifying…not relatable…haha)
I am not sure that I will go back and read her other books
as they are about parenting and I’m beyond that stage…
:)

NEXT UP: WHERE THE CRAWDADS SING - DELIA OWENS
dear candy....i kinda like you...
this candy reminds me
of the little yellow corner store
that used to be
next to my grandparents house…
lois’s
”run over to lois’s and get a can of chicken gravy”
”can i go to lois’s? i have a quarter.”
this was always my favorite
penny candy
(back when penny candy was really
a penny
and pennies
really existed)…
i got stitches just under my eye
from this penny candy…
my cousin & i found a pop bottle
in the backyard
when i was like…5…
he would throw it & whoever got to to it first
could take it to lois’s….
and me being me…i ran out in front of him
just before he threw it…
it hit me in the face and i had to get stitches…
heeheehee.
(i normally just tell people i got hit the face
with a bottle during a fight…it sounds more interesting.
heh.)
they said my biggest concern
was that my cousin william
wasn’t going to get in trouble…
heeheehee.
he was my favorite.
which is pretty obvious from these photos…heehee
friday i'm in love....
♥ i know i say this all the time but i can’t help…longer days.
i am completely, totally, painfully in love with longer hours of daylight.
♥ it’s almost LILAC TIME!!!! :)
♥ this trailer….
♥ how cute are these monster socks?
♥ and cause I can’t do friday i’m in love without something with polka dots,
look at these shoes! :)
♥ this salad sounds delicious…..
♥ this thing is sooooo cool!
♥ i am so happy that jean overall are making a comeback…
and luckily…I STILL HAVE MINE.
also…how cute is that dress?
♥ when your cousin lends you a book and drops it off in
a giant sesame street bag
and says that your other cousin
happened to throw in some SMURFS
and muppet pj pants….well, you realize you are pretty lucky.
:) :) :) :) :)
tuesday truths....the random edition
i went all morning thinking today was Wednesday
it’s not.
it’s Tuesday.
sigh.
toaster strudels
for supper
is my
new favorite thing.
my pen bled a little on this card
which made me sad
but the ballerina bunnies?
oh….
they made me incredibly happy!
heeheehee.
this sunshine just makes me think
of beaches and bare legs,
ice cream sundaes and parades,
birds chirping outside my window,
dirt roads, air shows,
getting lost on hiking trails,
bonfires and music outdoors…
sleeping with the window open,
driving with nowhere to go
and no one expecting me…
sigh.
