friday i'm in love...

It was a rainy Friday off
but I didn’t really mind.
I spent the day drinking coffee in a pumpkin mug,
catching up on blogs and pinterest,
making big plans for updating
my living room colors and
creating a new artsy/creative space and
reading nook
and finally getting back
to the little blue desk and
tried out my new paints.
Big learning curve…..but still so fun!

🧡i was so happy to see that my favorite candle is back in stock at Superstore…I bought 3 more. i couldn’t find a driftwood scent that i liked anywhere else.

🧡a friend messaged me to see if i wanted this sesame street pictures…did I?? YESSSSS!! i love them!!! 🥰

🧡i completely forgot how much i love toaster waffles.
it’s the little things. :)

shooting a wedding again for the first time
in a long time…

18 years in the blink of an eye...

18 years ago
we said i do in a church
that neither one of us attended...
during the
mandatory
marriage planning course
we each had such a fit of the giggles
that neither of us
could speak
or look at each other
and i laughed until i cried...
afterwards,
neither of us
could explain
why.

i wore a dress and veil
that your mom made for me
and you cut your own hair
like...
the day right before the wedding.

no special jewelry, no hair appointments
we signed the marriage license
with a 49 cent bic pen.

my parents drove me to the church
in their little blue chevette
and just before i was going to leave the room
we were waiting in
to walk down the aisle
my best friend said
stop! there's something on the back of your dress!
in a mad panic
we rushed into a washroom
where she dabbed at the stain
and i tried to think of desperate-yet-ridiculous ideas
like "could we just pin it together"
or "maybe no one will see it" -
(it being a stain on the back of my dress
obviously forgetting that i would be standing with my back
to everyone for the entire service)...
she got the stain out
by the time they had played my "walk down the aisle" song
twice
and i hadn't walked yet....
your dad shouted out
maybe she's not coming!
but then i made it to the aisle...
my adrenaline was so high at that point
that i think i pretty drug my father
beside me
as i rushed down that
aisle to get to you.

i knew the first night that i met you
that you were the one.

the thing i love most about you
is that no matter
what i say i am going to do,
you support me.
even when i wanted to paint an under the sea picture
on our ENTIRE picture window...
you are always the one
egging me on
telling me i can do it,
i should do it,
i should try it...
and you know me better than anyone...
sometimes, i think you know me better
than i know myself.

we celebrated with purple flowers and
KFC and later
maybe a movie & microwave popcorn...
sharing a blanket
curled up on the couch
and i wouldn't
have it
any other way.

friday i'm in love...the summer edition...

with hanging out on the deck in pjs on an early friday morning, listening to the cheeseburger bird and watching the pug roll in the grass
going to see this tonight!! :) and knowing that this trip to the drive in will be much better than my last drive in experience...and i'm sure my kids would agree.
have been having so much with engagement sessions and weddings! Editing last weekend's wedding (CEREMONY WAS IN AN APPLE ORCHARD! did i tell you that?) and today will be uploading last night's fun nautical themed engagement session...while finishing up (heh...up) the incredibly fun UP! themed engagement session from a couple of weeks ago..balloons! there were balloons!
not to mention (cause I'm not supposed to mention) but i have a SECRET session today...shhhhh...i am not supposed to tell anyone!
checking our little garden everyday to see if there are any new developments
sneaking in a little teeny tiny bit of reading
having lunch with one of my childhood best friends...a lot...cause now we work in the same building! Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaayyyy! (and yes, that was a true kermit flail...) :)
might be meeting up with another childhood best friend this afternoon to take in a bit of a ball game and catch up!
campbell landed a kick flip!
absolutely in love with this series...mind is blown. wow!
this little girl's giggles. that is all. well...and i'm jealous. i wanna do that! :)
it's no secret i am a bit of a sesame street fan. i had Maria & Luis's wedding recorded on a VHS tape. so i am sad that maria is retiring...happy for her...but sad. i don't like change. and i'm slightly selfish that way. :)
no weddings tomorrow, no commitments of any kind...other than editing...and maybe some laundry...this may require a trip to the beach...and a bbq...and some fresh island strawberries...they are out now, right? please say yes.
