friday i'm in love...even if it's kinda rainy...
I haven’t done a friday i’m in love for a bit…
just a few things that I am loving right now
and grateful for.
♥ i have been obsessed with this show “Bonus Family”
It’s Swedish…and ALLLLLLL subtitles
which I actually don’t mind because it means I can’t
scroll mindlessly on my phone while watching it…
but I seriously adore it.
♥ when a friend messages to tell you to look outside your door
and when you do, you find the cutest little tomato and pepper plants!
and then the same friend offers to show you how to make salsa
AND can it or bottle it or whatever it’s called in the fall
and you giggle to yourself because this friend
obviously
has no idea what she is getting herself into….hahahaha.
let’s not forget the fact that i once deep fried french fries…
in water….just to give some perspective. Haha.
♥ this. I am not sure what it is about the cello but
i kinda love it…
♥ jumbo mr freezies
♥ sugar cones with ice cream
♥ how green and vibrant the world looks after it rains
♥ listening to the radio loud while working from home
♥ that my favorite ice cream truck is opening up again!
Happy weekend! Hopefully the rain holds off
and if it doesn’t,
hopefully you find a nice dry place
to curl up and watch a movie or read a book or listen to music
that takes you to somewhere nice.
Also…taking recommendations on
any 3 of those things! Heehee.
my new friends. heehee.
the year i planted a garden...
i haven't talked about the garden
for a while...
well...unless you count that time that i
said
that i was completely sick of it
and didn't want to deal with it
anymore.
heh.
anyway.
it seemed to have flourished even without my help.
back when i still loved the garden
i made these little signs for it
but totally didn't get a chance to
post any photos of them
(probably because i spent every damn day
making 16 thousand trips back and forth
watering the damn garden)
(next year, i'm using a hose.)
and now we are coming to the end
of the garden season...
i am going to update my little planning book
with what worked well for me
and what i will do different next year
(maybe not go SO heavy on the tomatoes...)
but i am really happy with how it went
this summer.
i want to try to do some fall bulb planting too
of flowers for next year...
i am really, really excited to see the little flower garden
i started this year
bloom on it's own next year...
yeah. i kinda like this gardening thing.
i bet i'll like it WAY better next year
with a working hose.
:)
waiting is so hard...
everything is growing...
but
just
not
fast
enough.
there are so many tomatoes,
but none of them are red!
there are oodles of cucumber flowers
and quite a few pickle sized cucumbers
but not big enough to eat yet...
the corn is officially taller than me.
there are strawberries
that haven't turned red yet...
teeny tiny green peppers...
i know i shouldn't complain...
i've had string beans at least 4 times
(enough for one person each time)
BUT I WANT THE DAMN TOMATOES.
i did get a handful of raspberries though
and that was pretty sweet
well
except the ones that were sour...
:)
backyard gardening
a favorite next door neighbor stopped me on the street
on my way to the parade
and said
oh! your garden! it's gotten so big!
it's like a little rainforest in your backyard!
:)
she said she checks it anytime she walks her dogs
which makes me smile
because
i check it 4...5...10 times a day.
i water it...i pull some weeds...
i move a sprawling cucumber vine
hoping it will catch and hold the branches
i put in for support...
i count the strawberries
and look for baby string beans...
and, of course, i take pictures of it.
i feel like the closest neighbors
must think i am a bit of an obsessive nut.
but it draws me back again and again.
and already i am thinking about next year
and what i will add and what i will do different...
so yeah...maybe the obsessive nut thing
isn't that far off.. :)
